PROJECT MANAGEMENT TRAINING
COURSE
OBJECTIVE
“Project
Management in a Nutshell” provides a generic framework for project
planning, an understanding of leadership principles for successful
project management, and an introduction to a variety of project tracking
methods.
AUDIENCE
The
Nutshell course is intended for members of the general corporate
population who have not received project management training or who
would benefit from a reinforcement of basic project management skills.
COURSE
DESCRIPTION
The
Nutshell program is completed in two days with a recommended class size
of 16-20 participants. The
instructional presentation is followed by project plan writing in class
and situational scenarios for utilizing team skills.
The following topics are covered.
Success
Factors: Participants are
instructed in elements of successful project management, as identified
by an award winning project manager.
Project
Planning: The basic
components of project planning are defined and sample project plans are
discussed.
Project
Tracking: Various tracking
methods are illustrated and explained. Sample project plans are projected in several formats.
Writing
a Plan: Participants write
their own project plans in class, either as individuals or as teams.
Utilizing
Team Skills: Participants
break into teams and act out situational scenarios, followed by class
discussion of applied leadership skills.
